4 recalls across 2 model years
Recalls 2, 3, and 4 describe the same underlying defects as Recalls 1 and 2 (rear brake hose overheating and front brake master cylinder spring weakness), filed across multiple jurisdictions. I'll treat each as a single issue.
The KTM 790 Adventure has 4 recalls covering 2019-2020 model years, with the most serious being a rear brake hose that can overheat under hard braking, causing the rear brake system to fail entirely and leaving the rider dependent on the front brake alone to stop.
The 2019-2020 models also have a front brake master cylinder with a return spring that may be too weak to push the brake piston fully back after the lever is released. When this happens, the brake lever travels an unusually long distance before the brakes engage, and overall stopping power is reduced, extending the distance needed to bring the motorcycle to a halt.
