3 recalls across 9 model years
The Lexus ES 350 has 3 recalls spanning 2013 through 2020, with the most serious affecting 2017 models where a steering tie rod lock nut can loosen over time, causing the vehicle to drift and ultimately allowing the tie rod to separate from the steering gear and leave the driver with no steering control.
On 2020 models, a faulty passenger seat occupant classification sensor can short circuit and switch off the front passenger airbag even with someone seated there, meaning that passenger would have no airbag protection in a crash. The 2013 model year has a compliance-related issue where rear reflex reflectors may not reflect enough light to meet Canadian regulations, which the regulator notes does not affect vehicle safety.
