What can fail
The lock nut securing the right-side tie rod to the steering gear may not be tight enough. Over time it can loosen, causing the vehicle to drift side to side and eventually allowing the tie rod to separate, resulting in loss of steering control.
What the fix does
The dealer inspects the right-side tie rod lock nut. If loose, the dealer replaces the lock nut, steering gear assembly, and tie rod assembly.
