The Lexus HS 250h has 3 recalls, all affecting the 2010 model year, with the most serious being a hybrid transaxle defect where an internal holding plate can wear and contact the electric motor coil, causing a short circuit. A short circuit in the transaxle can cut drive power or trigger an electrical fault while the vehicle is in motion. There is also a brake accumulator issue on 2010 models where a fatigue crack can allow nitrogen gas to leak into the brake fluid. As gas enters the hydraulic system, the brake pedal gradually travels further before the brakes engage, reducing stopping power and raising the risk of a crash. The third recall covers fuel system integrity on 2010 models, where the fuel system can allow fuel spillage beyond permitted limits following a rear impact, raising the potential for a post-crash fire.
