LEXUS RX350 Recalls

The Lexus RX350 has 6 recalls covering 2008 through 2021 model years, with the most serious recent issue affecting 2019 and 2021 vehicles where an unremovedtransport hook left on the fuel filler pipe can puncture it in a rear-end crash and cause a fuel-fed fire. The 2017-2020 model years have a separate fuel-related concern: the in-tank fuel pump can fail while driving, cutting power to the engine and stalling the vehicle without warning. Also from the 2016 model year, two recalls apply to a narrow production window. The electronic stability control system can generate insufficient brake fluid pressure, reducing the vehicle's ability to maintain control during hard braking or a skid. On certain 2016 vehicles built in late 2015, the driver's knee airbag inflator has a faulty weld that lets gas escape, meaning the bag may not fully deploy in a crash. Going back further, the 2011 model year with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management carries a brake system calibration error that can lengthen stopping distances and reduce the system's ability to correct a slide. The earliest recall covers 2010 model year vehicles where the accelerator pedal can stick open, causing the vehicle to accelerate uncontrollably and making it difficult to stop.
