5/5 Overall
NHTSA 5-Star Safety Rating
The 2024 Lincoln Aviator has 7 recalls, the most serious involving trailer hitch assembly bolts that may be loose, which can cause a towed trailer to detach or the vehicle to lose handling control while towing.
Two recalls affect occupant restraint. Second-row outer seat belt anchor bolts may not be properly secured, meaning the belt may not hold an occupant in a crash. Separately, the easy-entry switch on second-row outer seats can stick or bind, causing the seat to unlatch, fold, or slide unexpectedly while driving, which also reduces crash protection for whoever is seated there.
Rear visibility is a concern in two ways: the rearview camera image can flip or invert when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, and electromagnetic interference from a cell phone inside the cabin can cause the camera image to flicker or distort. Both conditions reduce what the driver can see when backing up.
On the body side, rear door window bars and C-pillar trim may not be bonded firmly enough and can detach from the vehicle, creating a road hazard. There is also a compliance recall involving a missing airbag warning label on the dashboard.
