Summary
The Lincoln Corsair has 23 recalls spanning 2018 through 2026, with the most serious being a high-voltage battery cell defect on 2023-2026 plug-in hybrid models where an internal short circuit can cut drive power or start a fire.
The 2025 model year has a cluster of its own issues: an exhaust gas recirculation valve that can fail and cause sudden loss of drive power on vehicles with 1.5L, 2.0L, or 2.3L engines; rear seat belt retractors on 2025-2026 models that may not be properly secured and can fail to hold an occupant in a crash; rear combination lamps that can trap water and knock out the brake lights, reverse lights, or turn signals; and an instrument panel cluster that can go dark at startup or while driving, hiding the speedometer and warning lights. The 2021 model year has a separate powertrain concern where a prior software repair can cause the transmission to shift into neutral unexpectedly, cutting power to the wheels.
On the 2024-2025 models, water can also infiltrate the rear combination lights and disable the same set of rear lighting functions. The 2020-2022 model years carry a windshield wiper motor that can fail and leave the driver with no wiper operation in wet conditions. Those same years, along with 2023 on certain camera-related issues, have a recurring rearview camera problem: water entering the camera connector can cause a blank or distorted image while backing up, and a separate software fault on 360-degree camera-equipped vehicles can prevent the camera image from appearing on the display entirely. The rearview image on 2020-2022 models can also flip or invert while reversing, further reducing rear visibility.
The 2020 model year has rear coil springs that can contact the toe link bracket, wear through their protective coating, fracture, and separate from the vehicle, creating a road hazard. The 2020 model also has a seat belt reminder chime, on vehicles equipped with a Revel audio system, that cuts off too quickly and may not prompt the driver to buckle up. Going back to the broadest coverage, 2018-2025 models across this and several other Ford and Lincoln lines may be missing the airbag warning label from the dashboard, a compliance issue rather than a mechanical defect.
