LINCOLN MKS Recalls

The Lincoln MKS has 5 recalls covering 2009 through 2015, with the most serious being a halfshaft disengagement issue on 2013-2014 models where the driveshaft can separate internally and cut power to the wheels while driving, raising the risk of a crash. The 2013-2015 model years with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine have a fuel pump control module that can overheat or sustain damage from high electrical current, causing the fuel pump to stop working and the engine to stall without warning or refuse to start. The 2015 model year has a separate brakes concern: the parking brake controller bracket may have been formed incorrectly during manufacturing, preventing the pawl from fully engaging the sector gear and leaving the parking brake unable to hold the vehicle. Going back to the first model year, 2009 vehicles operated in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba are subject to a rear suspension toe link that can accumulate dirt and mud buildup to the point of fracturing, causing a sudden loss of rear-end stability.
