The 2007 Mazda3 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the driver's airbag cover emblem, which can shatter during deployment and send plastic fragments into the cabin. Two recalls affect the power steering system. On certain models equipped with electric power steering, the assist can cut out suddenly while driving, making the wheel significantly harder to turn than the driver expects. On models with electro-hydraulic power steering, rust particles inside the high-pressure steering pipe can break loose and damage the pump bearings, which can also lead to a loss of steering assist.
