The 2018 Mazda3 has 4 recalls, the most serious involving a fuel pump whose internal impeller can crack and deform, causing the engine to stall without warning while driving.
Two separate issues can also cause an engine stall: a faulty windshield wiper relay can leave wipers inoperative in wet conditions, cutting visibility, and an incorrect exhaust valve spring can fail and cut engine power. There is also a rearview camera recall where the image may flicker or appear distorted when backing up, reducing the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle.
