The 2024 Mazda Mazda3 has 4 recalls, the most serious involving two safety systems: a forward sensing camera malfunction that can disable automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist, and a sensor software fault that can deactivate the airbags during a low battery condition.
On the visibility side, two recalls address camera display failures. A software problem can cause the rearview camera image to flicker or go blank when reversing, and a separate software error can prevent the rearview, front, or side camera images from appearing on the display. Both issues reduce what the driver can see around the vehicle while maneuvering. The camera display failures only affect vehicles equipped with a dynamic guideline rearview monitor or 360-degree monitor. The forward camera malfunction also disables automatic high-to-low beam headlight switching, leaving high beams on in situations where they would normally dim.
