The 2015 Mazda6 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the electrical system on 2.5L engine models where a software error in the powertrain control module can cause the car to stop charging the battery, leading to loss of power steering assist, wiper operation, and poor acceleration.
The second recall affects the parking brake on certain vehicles: water can get into the brake caliper and corrode the parking brake actuator shaft, causing it to bind so the parking brake may not fully engage or release. On the tire safety side, if all four tires gradually lose pressure at the same rate, the tire pressure monitoring system may not trigger a warning light, leaving the driver unaware of dangerously low tire pressure that can lead to a sudden blowout.
