Mercedes-Benz Amg E63 Recalls

The Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 has 12 recalls spanning 2007 through 2023, with the most serious being a fuel pump failure on 2021–2023 models that can shut off drive power without warning, raising the risk of a crash.

On 2018–2019 models, the oil feed line to the turbocharger can leak onto hot engine or exhaust components, creating a fire risk. The 2021 model year carries several distinct issues: the front passenger seat may be missing a mechanical stop that limits its travel range, which can place the occupant in the wrong position relative to the airbag during a crash; the rear seat belt retractors on 2021–2022 vehicles can deactivate too early, preventing a child safety seat from locking in place securely; and the parking control unit on 2021 models can fail to show the rearview camera image or correctly read parking sensors, reducing awareness of objects behind the vehicle.

The eCall emergency notification system has recurring issues across several model years. On 2018–2021 vehicles, the system can fail and either prevent contact with emergency services entirely or send responders to the wrong location after a crash. The same type of failure extends through 2019–2021 production in a separate filing covering the same consequence.

Going back to 2007–2009 models, the sunroof glass panel can separate from its frame and detach from the vehicle while driving, becoming a road hazard. This issue appears across multiple filings covering that era, all describing the same underlying failure of the bonding or securing mechanism between the glass and the roof frame.
