4 recalls across 3 model years
The Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4MATIC has 4 recalls covering the 2023–2025 model years, with the most serious being a battery management software defect on 2024 models that can cause a sudden loss of drive power while moving, raising the risk of a crash. A second equally serious issue on 2023–2024 models involves a steering coupling bolt that may not have been tightened correctly at the factory, allowing the coupling to work loose from the steering rack and causing the driver to lose steering control.
On 2023 models only, an incorrect fuse box installed during a prior repair can interrupt drive power or knock out critical systems including the airbags and instrument cluster, again raising crash and injury risk. Rounding out the recall list, 2023–2024 models have a software issue in the pedestrian alert system where the low-speed warning sound played while reversing may not be the correct tone, reducing the chance that pedestrians on foot detect the vehicle backing toward them.
