The Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS600 has 5 recalls, all affecting the 2021 model year, with the most serious being an improperly secured ground cable bolt under the front passenger seat where the 48V electrical connection can overheat and start a fire.

A separate fire risk exists on the same 2021 vehicles: air conditioner drain hoses may have been installed incorrectly, allowing water to collect in the front foot wells. That water can corrode or short-circuit electrical components beneath the floor, also raising the risk of fire. The backup camera on 2021 models can display a black screen or reboot after startup, leaving the driver without a rear view while reversing. Rear door window trim bars on 2021 vehicles can detach while driving and become a road hazard for other traffic. Finally, interior switch illumination can fail on 2021 models, making controls harder to locate and operate while driving.
