3 recalls across 2 model years
The Mitsubishi Expo has 3 recalls spanning 1992 and 1996, with the most serious affecting 1992 all-wheel-drive models where the transfer case can seize from insufficient lubrication, causing sudden loss of vehicle control.
The 1996 model year has a separate cooling system concern: the upper radiator hose can be clamped with insufficient force, allowing engine movement to pull the hose loose, drain coolant, and cause the engine to overheat. Also on 1992 models, excess lubrication in the door latch mechanism can deform a rubber switch cover and prevent the shoulder belt from sliding down from the A-pillar when the door closes, leaving the occupant without proper restraint in a crash.
