The Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart has 2 recalls spanning the 2008-2014 production run, with the most serious affecting 2014 models where the power steering pressure tube sits too close to the cross-member brace, wears through from contact, leaks fluid, and can start an engine compartment fire while also making the steering noticeably heavier to turn. On 2008 models, the drive belt can accelerate wear on its pulleys, eventually detaching and disabling both the electrical charging system and the engine cooling system, which will trigger warning lights on the dashboard. A failed cooling system left unaddressed can lead to engine overheating.
