3 recalls across 3 model years
The Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart has 3 recalls spanning 2008 to 2015, with the most serious being a fuel tank corrosion issue on 2014-2015 models where missing protective coating allows the tank to rust through, leak fuel, and create a fire risk near any ignition source.
The 2014 model year also has a power steering pressure tube that sits too close to the cross-member brace, allowing the two to wear against each other and cause rust. The resulting fluid leak raises steering effort and can also create a fire risk if leaking fluid contacts a hot surface. On 2008 models, the drive belt can cause abnormal wear on its pulleys, and if driven in that condition the belt can detach, cutting power to both the charging system and the engine cooling system and triggering warning lights on the dashboard.
