3 recalls across 3 model years
The Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart has 3 recalls spanning 2008 through 2015, with the most serious being a fuel tank coating defect on 2014-2015 models where the tank can rust through and leak fuel, raising the risk of a fire near any ignition source.
The 2014 model year also has a power steering pressure tube that sits too close to a cross-member brace, allowing the two to rub and cause corrosion. The resulting fluid leak makes steering noticeably heavier and can also produce a fire risk if leaked fluid contacts an ignition source. On 2008 models, a drive belt material problem causes abnormal wear on the pulleys it contacts; if the belt eventually detaches, the engine's charging and cooling systems both lose function and the engine warning light comes on.
