The 2022 Nissan Frontier has 7 recalls, the most serious being a transmission defect where the parking pawl may not engage when shifted into park, allowing the truck to roll away unexpectedly.
On the fuel system side, certain Crew Cab Long Bed models are missing a tow hitch that is needed to protect the fuel tank in a rear collision. Without it, the leaf spring can contact the fuel tank during a crash, causing a fuel leak and raising the risk of fire. The left-rear seat belt bracket mounting bolts may also be insufficiently tightened, meaning the bracket can break in a crash and leave the rear passenger without effective restraint. Two recalls address rear visibility: the infotainment system can reboot when a SiriusXM subscription is set to "Not Subscribed," and separately, the system may reboot continuously when the vehicle is restarted. Both conditions result in the rearview camera going dark while the truck is in use.
