Summary
The Nissan Kicks has 10 recalls spanning the 2021-2026 model years, with the most serious affecting 2025 models where the shift-to-park warning can fail to activate when the ignition is switched off and the transmission is left out of Park, allowing the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly.
The 2026 model year has a separate structural concern: door strikers may be improperly formed and can break, allowing a door to swing open while driving or during a crash. On 2025 models, there is also a label issue where the certification sticker may show incorrect weight ratings and, on SR trim vehicles with the optional 19-inch wheel package, incorrect tire and rim sizes, which can lead to overloading or improper tire inflation. Going back to the 2021 model year, the electric power steering torque sensor can lose its electrical connection intermittently, cutting off power steering assist. When that happens, steering becomes noticeably heavier, particularly at low speeds, raising the risk of a crash. Prior repair attempts under an earlier inspection campaign did not fully resolve the issue for all affected vehicles, so 2021 owners who had the steering column inspected but not replaced should verify their status.
