The 2013 Nissan NV200 has 6 recalls, the most serious involving a steering column that may have been incorrectly reassembled after a post-production inspection, which can cause steering components to separate and result in a complete loss of steering control.
Two separate fuel system recalls address the same underlying problem: the fuel tank temperature sensor wiring can chafe or short-circuit, blowing the fuel pump fuse and causing the engine to stall without warning while driving. Related to that, wiring near the battery can wear against a fusible link bracket, creating an electrical short that can also stall the engine or cause the wiring to melt and produce smoke under the hood, raising the risk of a fire. The passenger seat sensor that determines whether to deploy the front airbag may not function correctly, meaning the passenger-side airbag can fail to deploy in a crash, leaving the front passenger without full protection.
