2018 Nissan Pathfinder

The 2018 Nissan Pathfinder has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk tied to the anti-lock brake system, where brake fluid can leak onto an internal circuit board, cause an electrical short, and potentially ignite.

This brake system concern was the subject of an earlier recall, but prior repairs or inspections did not fully resolve the issue for all affected vehicles, so the campaign was extended to cover additional Pathfinders. Owners whose vehicles were previously inspected and cleared, or who never had the original repair done, are included in the expanded recall. On the visibility side, a separate recall covers the backup camera, which can fail to display an image when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. Without that view of what is directly behind the vehicle, the driver has no camera assistance when backing up, raising the risk of striking a pedestrian or object that would otherwise appear on screen.
