The Nissan Rogue Sport has 3 recalls covering 2018 through 2021, the most serious affecting 2021 models where the liftgate hinges can separate from the vehicle body in a rear-end collision, leaving occupants without the structural protection the liftgate is meant to provide. The 2021 model year has a second recall involving the rear seat belt retractor, where the automatic locking function can deactivate sooner than intended when a child seat is installed, reducing the restraint the belt provides to the seat in a crash. On 2018-2019 models, the backup camera can fail to display an image when reversing, removing rear visibility and raising the risk of a collision while backing up.
