The airbag concern spans multiple filings, including one specifically targeting vehicles whose inflators were inspected during an earlier round of repairs but were not replaced as required, meaning prior service may not have resolved the risk. Owners should verify whether the remedy was fully completed on their vehicle.
Two recalls address the fuel system, and both trace back to the same underlying problem: a vapor hose inside the fuel tank was not formed correctly, leaving a gap where it connects to a tube. When the car is parked with a full tank, fuel can migrate into the vapor hose and saturate the vapor canister until excess liquid fuel spills onto the ground beneath the vehicle. Fuel pooling under a parked car becomes a fire hazard if any ignition source is nearby.
The remaining recall affects only vehicles equipped with the 2.5-liter engine. The crankshaft position sensor can overheat and briefly drop its signal to the engine control module. If the interruption is short enough that the module does not register it as a fault, the engine can stall without warning and without storing a diagnostic code, leaving the driver with no prior indication that anything was wrong.
