Summary
The Polestar 3 has 8 recalls, all affecting 2025 models, with the most serious being a voltage converter defect where fluctuations in the 12-volt system can damage the converter module and cause a sudden loss of drive power while the vehicle is moving.
All eight recalls cover only the 2025 model year. A separate concern involves the panoramic glass sunroof, which may not be properly secured and can detach while driving, becoming a hazard for surrounding traffic. On the structural side, the front bumper can be missing mounting bolts and detach while moving, also creating a road hazard. The rear seat backrest striker brackets may be loose, meaning the backrest can fall forward in a crash and allow cargo to enter the passenger compartment. Water can enter the wiring connectors between the engine bay and the front bumper harness, causing electrical malfunctions including loss of electric power steering assist, which makes the steering wheel suddenly much harder to turn, particularly at low speeds. This water intrusion can also disable driver assistance features including the pedestrian warning sound and parking assistance. The rearview camera has a software issue where the display either shows the wrong camera view or fails to appear entirely when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, reducing visibility behind the vehicle while backing up.
