The 2025 Polestar 3 has 8 recalls, the most serious being a damaged high-to-low voltage converter that can cause a sudden loss of drive power, and a panoramic sunroof that can detach and become a road hazard. On the electrical side, water can get into the wiring connectors between the engine bay and front bumper harnesses and cause multiple systems to fail, including power steering, the pedestrian warning system, and parking assistance. A loss of power steering means steering effort increases sharply, particularly at low speeds. There is also a software problem with the rearview camera that can cause it to either display the wrong view or go blank entirely when the vehicle is in reverse, leaving the driver with little visibility behind the car. On the structural side, the front bumper may be missing bolts and can separate from the vehicle while driving, and the panoramic sunroof may not be properly secured and can also come free. For occupant safety, the striker brackets that hold the rear seat backrest in place may be loose, allowing the backrest to fold forward in a crash and letting cargo enter the cabin.
