9 recalls across 15 model years
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo has 9 recalls spanning 2003 through 2020, with the most serious being a fuel line quick connector on 2019–2020 models that can leak fuel in the engine compartment, creating a fire risk near ignition sources.
The 2019 model year has a second fuel-related issue where a separate quick connector for the fuel line can soften from engine heat, potentially causing a fuel odor or leak that also raises the risk of fire. Also on 2019 models, a transmission fluid pipe with an improperly welded joint can leak fluid onto the road, creating a slipping hazard for other drivers.
Going back to the 2011 model year, camshaft controllers inside the engine can work loose, causing the engine to stall unexpectedly while driving. The 2006–2015 model years are subject to a headlight adjustment issue where the beams may not properly illuminate the road ahead or may shine into the eyes of oncoming drivers.
Earlier production from 2003–2006 has two issues worth noting. The fuel pump flange on those models can crack and allow fuel to leak, again creating a fire risk. There is also a transmission gear position indicator problem where the vehicle may not register that it is out of Park, allowing it to roll away if the driver exits without applying the parking brake. The 2003 model year alone has a rear seatbelt latch attachment bolt that may not be properly secured, which can allow the belt to give way in a crash and leave a rear occupant unrestrained. A compliance label omission also affects 2003 models, where weight rating information was left off the certification label.
