3 recalls across 1 model year
The Renault Medallion has 3 recalls, all affecting the 1988 model year, with the most serious being a throttle cable spring that can slip out of position and cause the engine to race uncontrollably at idle, making the vehicle difficult to control and raising the risk of a crash. Equally serious, loose wiring terminals in the fuse block can increase electrical resistance at the heater blower motor fuse connection, overheat the surrounding wiring, and start a fire inside the instrument panel. There is also a heater core end cap that can fail and vent coolant steam into the cabin, fogging the windshield and reducing the driver's ability to see the road.
