Rolls-Royce Ghost Recalls

The Rolls-Royce Ghost has 12 recalls spanning the 2010 through 2023 model years, with the most serious being an auxiliary water pump circuit board that can overheat and start a fire in the engine compartment on 2010–2012 models, a risk that exists even when the vehicle is parked.

On 2021–2023 models, the tempered glass panel covering the instrument cluster can shatter in a crash and send fragments toward occupants. The 2021 model year is covered by this recall. Turning to occupant restraints, 2021 models have a seat belt retractor that can fail to lock properly during a crash, reducing the protection the belt provides. The 2018 model year has a separate airbag concern: both the side curtain and head airbags may have been damaged during assembly, leaving them unable to fully inflate or position correctly when deployed in a crash.

Going back to mid-production years, the 2017 Ghost has a driver's seat belt retractor that may not lock as intended during hard braking, activating late when the occupant has already moved forward. The 2016 model year is not affected by this particular issue. The 2015 model year has a single vehicle where the front thorax airbags may not meet side impact performance requirements, raising the risk of injury to front seat occupants in a side collision.

Earlier in the production run, the 2012 model has a tire information label that lists the wrong tire size, which can lead to incorrect inflation and raise the risk of a tire failure. The 2010 and 2011 model years carry the fire risk from the auxiliary water pump circuit board described above.
