The Rolls-Royce Ghost has 9 recalls covering 2010 through 2023, with the most serious being an auxiliary water pump circuit board that can overheat and start an engine compartment fire on 2010 and 2011 models. The most recent production years carry a recall affecting 2021-2023 vehicles where single-layer tempered glass covering the instrument cluster can shatter in a crash and send fragments toward occupants. Moving back to 2018, the head airbags on certain vehicles may have been damaged during assembly, meaning they can fail to fully inflate or properly position in a crash, reducing head protection when it is needed most. The 2017 model year has a driver's seatbelt that may not lock up during hard braking or a crash, allowing the driver to move forward more than the belt is designed to allow. On a single 2015 vehicle, the front thorax airbags may not meet side impact performance requirements, raising the risk of injury to front seat occupants in a side collision. On 2012 models built between late March and mid-July of that year, a tire information label incorrectly lists 19-inch tires when the vehicle was fitted with 20-inch tires, which can lead to improper inflation and increase the risk of tire failure.
