4 recalls across 4 model years
The Saturn Outlook has 4 recalls covering the 2007–2010 production run, with the most serious being a 2007 model year airbag control module defect where the front airbags can fail to deploy in a frontal crash, and the warning light that should alert the driver to the problem may also fail to illuminate.
The 2008 model year has a separate airbag concern involving the side airbag wiring, where connections can develop increasing electrical resistance over time, eventually causing the seat-mounted side airbags and seatbelt pretensioners to fail in a crash without any reliable warning beyond a dashboard light that may appear early in the process. Across all 2007–2010 model years, the rear liftgate struts can weaken and allow the open liftgate to fall unexpectedly, striking anyone standing beneath it. On 2007 models registered in regions with moderate to heavy snowfall, ice and snow buildup on the windshield or wiper blades can jam the wiper arm and detach the linkage from the motor, leaving the driver with no wipers in conditions where visibility is already reduced.
