The 2018 Subaru Legacy has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a low-pressure fuel pump that can fail and cause the engine to lose power without warning while driving, raising the risk of a crash. The remaining two recalls relate to information and visibility systems. On vehicles with a built-in navigation system, a software issue can prevent the center display screen from turning on when the vehicle starts, which also disables the rearview camera. There is also a fuel gauge concern: the low fuel warning light may not activate at the right time, and the distance-to-empty readout in the instrument display can show remaining range even when the tank is actually empty, leaving the driver without an accurate warning before running out of fuel.
