The 2018 Subaru Legacy has 6 recalls, the most serious being a fuel pump that can fail while driving, cutting engine power without warning and raising the risk of a crash.
Two separate fuel display recalls describe the same underlying problem: the low fuel warning light may not come on at the right time, and the miles-to-empty gauge can show a positive number even when the tank is dry, leaving the driver no warning before the engine stalls. On the visibility side, a software issue can prevent the rearview camera from displaying an image while backing up, and on vehicles with a built-in navigation system, the centre display screen may fail to turn on properly at startup, which affects rear camera access as well. Both camera issues stem from the display system failing to initialize correctly.
