Suzuki Swift + Recalls

The Suzuki Swift+ has 6 recalls covering the 2004 and 2007 model years, with the most serious being a throttle body icing defect on 2004 models where temperatures near or below -20 degrees Celsius can cause the throttle to stick open, leaving the driver unable to reduce engine power and raising the risk of a crash.

This throttle icing issue prompted multiple repair attempts on 2004 models, and the later filings note that prior repair campaigns did not fully resolve the problem, meaning some 2004 vehicles may still be affected even if previously serviced. The 2004 model year also has a daytime running light module that can overheat to the point of melting and starting a fire. A separate 2004 daytime running light concern involves the module failing in ways short of fire: the lights may flicker, stay on after the vehicle is shut off, or stop working entirely while the indicator light on the instrument panel turns off. The 2007 model year has a compliance recall involving a manufacturing date label printed in the wrong format, which poses no safety risk.
