The 2017 Toyota 86 has two recalls, the more serious being an ignition defect on automatic transmission models where the key can be removed while the transmission is not in Park, allowing the vehicle to roll away.
The ignition issue only affects vehicles built with an automatic transmission and a physical key; push-to-start and manual transmission models are not involved. The other recall covers the spare tire, which may not have been inflated to the correct pressure at the point of sale. A spare that is underinflated can fail to perform properly if put into use, raising the risk of a crash.
