The 2019 Toyota Corolla has 3 recalls, the most serious affecting hatchback models with a CVT transmission where internal blades inside the torque converter can detach and cause the engine to stall, raising the risk of a crash. This recall only affects Corolla hatchback models. On the restraint side, certain Corollas with a rear seatbelt dual-mode locking mechanism have a sensor that can fail to lock the belt during a crash with multiple impacts, leaving rear occupants without full protection.
