The 2019 Toyota Corolla has 6 recalls, the most serious being two separate issues that can stall the engine while driving: a torque converter that may shed internal blades on hatchback CVT models, and a fuel pump that can fail and cut engine power.
The airbag control module can malfunction during a crash and prevent airbags and seatbelt pretensioners from firing, leaving occupants with less protection at the moment they need it most. Two recalls involve the load capacity label, one where the label text may become illegible and another where the label may display incorrect figures; in either case, a driver could unknowingly overload the vehicle. Note that the torque converter recalls only affect hatchback models with a CVT, while the fuel pump and airbag recalls apply more broadly.
