The 2023 Toyota Crown has 5 recalls, the most serious being multiple issues that can prevent the rearview and front cameras from displaying a clear image while backing up or maneuvering, reducing visibility and raising the risk of a collision.
Camera problems appear in several forms: improperly welded camera cases can let water inside and cause a short circuit that produces a distorted or blank image, and a separate software error can cause the rearview camera to freeze or go blank when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. There is also a recall covering the instrument panel display, which on certain vehicles may fail to show critical driving information. Rounding out the list is a labeling issue where an incorrect maximum cargo capacity value printed on the vehicle could lead an owner to overload it.
