The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has 4 recalls, the most serious involving curtain airbags that may partially deploy outside an open window during a crash rather than inflating properly inside the cabin to protect occupants.
Two recalls involve display and visibility issues. The rearview camera on vehicles with the Panoramic View Monitor system can freeze or show a blank screen when backing up, leaving the driver without a view of what is behind the vehicle. Separately, the instrument panel display can fail to show critical driving information, which reduces the driver's awareness of vehicle status while in motion. There is also a label recall affecting certain vehicles where an incorrect maximum cargo and passenger weight rating on the label can lead to unintentional overloading.
