TOYOTA PRIUS PLUG-IN Recalls

The Toyota Prius Plug-in has 2 recalls spanning 2010 through 2015, with the most serious affecting 2012-2015 models where a fuse inside the hybrid battery can fracture during repeated high-load driving, causing the hybrid system to shut down and leaving the vehicle without power at highway speeds. The 2010 and 2012 model years have a separate concern with the curtain airbag inflator, where a cracked weld can cause part of the inflator housing to break loose and eject into the passenger cabin during deployment, raising the risk of injury to occupants.
