TOYOTA RAV4 HYBRID Recalls

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has 3 recalls, all affecting the 2019 model year, with the most serious involving a porous engine block that can crack, leak coolant, cause the engine to overheat or fail outright, and in some cases start a fire. The brake system also has a recall on 2019 models where the brake booster pump can fail, reducing braking assist and extending stopping distances; when this happens, the dashboard displays a warning and the vehicle stability control system shuts off. There is also a rearview camera issue on 2019 models where a damaged connector in the audio display unit can prevent the camera from activating when reversing, reducing the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle.
