The 2024 Toyota Sequoia has 5 recalls, the most serious being two separate crash risks: the transmission can allow unexpected vehicle movement when in neutral with the brakes off, and certain passenger-side front and rear tires may have internal sidewall damage that causes a sudden blowout.
On the visibility side, a software error can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, leaving the driver with no view of what is behind them. There is also a tow hitch cover on vehicles equipped with one that can work loose from the rear bumper and fall onto the road, creating a hazard for other drivers. A separate recall addresses an incorrect maximum capacity weight label, which could lead to unknowingly overloading the vehicle. Note that these recalls affect Hybrid trim models specifically.
