TOYOTA VENZA Recalls

The Toyota Venza has 6 recalls spanning 2009 through 2021, with the most serious being a floor mat interference issue on 2009 models where the all-weather mat can slide forward and trap the accelerator pedal, preventing the driver from reducing engine power. The other 2009-only recall involves wiring routed through the driver's door that can wear and break over time, leaving the driver-side side and curtain airbags unable to deploy in a crash. The airbag warning light on the instrument cluster may come on as a sign this has occurred. That same door wiring defect extends to 2009-2015 models more broadly, where repeated door use gradually damages the sensor wiring with the same result: driver-side airbags that may not fire when needed. On 2011 AWD models, the right front driveshaft can break while driving, which can cause sudden loss of drive power and potential loss of vehicle control. The 2021 Venza Hybrid has a recall involving the rear turn signal LED assemblies, where water intrusion causes condensation on the circuit board and a short circuit that can dim or disable the rear turn signals and hazard lights, reducing visibility to drivers behind the vehicle.
