Toyota Venza Recalls

The Toyota Venza has 11 recalls spanning 2009 through 2024, with the most serious being a driver-side door wiring defect on 2009-2015 models where repeated door use can damage the airbag sensor wiring, preventing the side and curtain airbags from deploying in a crash.

On the current generation, 2023-2024 models have two display-related recalls: a software error can cause the rearview camera to freeze or go blank while reversing, and a separate issue can cause the instrument panel to fail to show critical driving information. There is also a label error on 2023-2024 vehicles where an incorrect maximum load capacity value could lead to overloading. The 2021-2022 model years have an electronic stability control software issue where the system can deactivate unexpectedly, reducing the vehicle's ability to recover from a skid. On 2021 models, water can enter the rear turn signal LED housings, cause a short circuit, and dim or disable the turn signals and hazard lights.

Going back to the first generation, 2009-2010 models sold through Southeast Toyota distributors have an aftermarket seat heater recall where a damaged copper heating element can short circuit and start a fire. The 2011 AWD model has a right front driveshaft that can break while driving due to inadequate hardening during production. On 2009 models, the all-weather floor mat can slide forward if not clipped down or if stacked on another mat, interfering with the accelerator pedal.
