The 2021 Toyota Venza has 3 recalls, the most serious being water intrusion into the rear turn signal LED lights that can cause a short circuit, dimming or disabling the turn signals and hazard lights and reducing the vehicle's visibility to other drivers.
The turn signal issue also affects how the problem appears from inside the car: when the rear bulbs short, the turn signal indicator on the instrument panel may flash faster than normal, which can be the first sign something is wrong out back. These are hybrid models, and prior repair attempts may not have fully resolved the issue, as the defect appears across two separate filings for the same root problem. There is also a software concern with the electronic stability control system: a software defect in the control module can deactivate the stability system without the driver's knowledge, removing the electronic safety net that helps prevent skids and loss of control on slippery or uneven roads.
