5 recalls across 6 model years
The Triumph Thruxton has 5 recalls spanning 2008 through 2018, with the most serious being a side stand spring that can fracture on 2016-2018 models, allowing the stand to drop while riding and triggering a switch that cuts engine power without warning.
Recalls 3 and 1 both describe this same side stand spring failure, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue across the affected range. A related engine management software problem on 2016-2018 models can also cause the engine to stall when the throttle is opened and closed quickly with the clutch pulled in, again cutting power unexpectedly while riding. These two issues make the 2016-2018 production years the most recall-dense portion of the run.
Going back to the earliest production, 2008 models have a front brake caliper issue where bolts of incorrect length were installed, leaving insufficient thread engagement. If the caliper is disassembled during routine brake maintenance, the threads can strip, compromising the caliper's ability to hold together and function properly.
