The 1975 Volkswagen Scirocco has 3 recalls, the most serious being brake lines inside the passenger compartment that can corrode and suddenly leak, reducing brake pressure and significantly extending stopping distances. On the electrical side, vehicles where an aftermarket radio was installed may have an unsealed hole in the fender where the antenna cable passes through. Water thrown up by the front tire can travel along the cable and reach the fuse and relay board, potentially disrupting electrical circuits throughout the vehicle. There is also a recall affecting vehicles equipped with catalytic converters, where an unspecified condition can damage the converter and potentially the vehicle itself.
