On certain models with 80-litre fuel tanks, fuel may seep from the tank top if the tank is overfilled, ambient temperatures are high, and the sending unit lock ring is not tight enough. This seepage could ignite if exposed to a heat source.

What the fix does

Dealers will inspect for seepage, retighten the sending unit lock ring if no seepage is found, replace the lock ring gasket if seepage is present, and install an additional clamp around the lock ring on all vehicles.
