5 recalls across 1 model year
The Volvo EX90 has 5 recalls, all affecting the 2025 model year, with the most serious being improperly tightened mounting bolts on the second-row free-standing seats that can fail to hold an occupant in position during a crash, raising the risk of injury.
All five recalls are concentrated in the 2025 model year. Two separate recalls address the power liftgate: in one, a spindle nut can detach from the motorized tailgate drive unit, and in the other, the liftgate support struts can separate from their mounting points. Both failures produce the same result: the liftgate drops suddenly and can strike anyone standing behind the vehicle. A software fault in the low-power controller can cause the headlight shutters to close over both the high and low beams while the vehicle is in motion, cutting off all forward lighting and reducing visibility at night or in low-light conditions.
