2025 VOLVO EX90 Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2025 Volvo EX90 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the power tailgate, which can drop suddenly and strike a person standing behind the vehicle. The tailgate issue stems from two separate causes: a spindle nut that may detach from the tailgate drive unit, and struts that may not have been manufactured correctly and can separate. Either way, the result is the same uncontrolled drop. On the occupant safety side, bolts securing the second-row free-standing seat may not be properly tightened, meaning the seat could fail to hold an occupant in a crash. There are also two headlight recalls that describe the same outcome: a software fault can cause the headlight shutters to close over both the high and low beams while driving, cutting off forward illumination entirely and raising the risk of a crash at night or in low visibility conditions.
