1990 VOLVO FE Recalls — Canada & USA

The 1990 Volvo FE has 4 recalls, the most serious being a brake system routing issue where an air suspension bag failure can cause total loss of front axle braking, significantly extending stopping distances. Two additional recalls address trailer brake performance. The trailer hand brake control valve may have an incorrect valve installed that limits air pressure to the trailer brakes below the required level, reducing braking force on the trailer and increasing stopping distances in a situation where you need them most. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this issue, which is why it appears across more than one filing. On the occupant safety side, the steel braided tether on the front seatbelt buckle can become deformed or cracked as the seat slides along its rail and the tether gets pinched under the seat frame, which can cause the buckle to fail to hold the occupant in a crash.
