The 2007 Volvo S80 has 7 recalls, the most serious being two that affect front seatbelt safety: the cable anchoring the front seatbelt to the seat can weaken and detach in a crash, and the seatbelt pretensioner assembly can become unsecured, both raising the risk of injury.
The steering system also has a concern: a power steering return hose that was routed incorrectly during assembly can build up excess pressure, burst, and drain the power steering fluid, leaving the driver with a much heavier, unassisted steering wheel. On the electrical side, a software fault in the body control module can cause the windshield wipers to stop responding when switched on, or to run unexpectedly when switched off, either of which reduces visibility in rain. There is also a compliance recall covering the tire pressure monitoring system, whose software uses an incorrect trigger level, and the tire and loading information label in the cabin and owner's manual, which lists incorrect maximum tire inflation figures.
