Volvo V60cc Recalls

The Volvo V60CC has 13 recalls spanning 2011 through 2025, with the most serious being a steering gear defect on 2019-2022 models where a loose screw inside the gearbox housing can cause the steering wheel to lock up while driving.

On 2023-2025 models, the rearview camera can fail to display an image when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, removing rear visibility when backing up. Also on 2023 models, a diagnostic error in the brake control module can disable anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control simultaneously. A separate 2023 software issue can trigger a false warning for the emergency call system, which may mask a real failure and delay emergency response after a crash.

The 2021 model year has two occupant protection issues: the airbag and restraint control unit can detach from the body during a crash, reducing the effectiveness of airbags, seatbelts, and high-voltage battery disconnect, and the rear seatbelt retractors can deactivate early, preventing child safety seats from securing properly. On 2019-2020 models, a software and hardware incompatibility can prevent the automatic emergency braking system from detecting obstacles and engaging. The low-pressure fuel pump on 2019-2020 vehicles can also blow a fuse and stall the engine without warning.

Going back further, 2017 models have side airbag inflator initiators that can fail to ignite in a crash, leaving the side airbags undeployed. The 2017-2019 model years have a connectivity module software error that can prevent GPS location from reaching emergency services after a crash. On 2015-2018 models, front seatbelts can fail to properly restrain an occupant in a crash. The 2011-2017 model years have a door latch component that can break, allowing a door to appear closed while remaining unlatched and potentially swinging open while driving.
