2009 VOLVO VN Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2009 Volvo VN has 3 recalls, the most serious involving ball joints in both the front suspension and the steering drag link that can corrode, wear through, and separate, causing complete loss of steering control. The corrosion stems from compromised seals that allow moisture into the joints, accelerating wear until the joint fails entirely. The third recall affects trucks equipped with bench passenger seats, where a weld securing the seatbelt d-ring anchor may not be strong enough to hold under load in a crash, allowing the belt to pull free and fail to restrain the occupant.
