5 recalls across 2 model years
The Zero SR/F has 5 recalls covering 2020 and 2022 model years, with the most serious being a 2022 front brake caliper that can loosen from damaged mounting threads, reducing braking force and raising the risk of a crash.
The 2022 model year also has a separate rear brake issue where incorrect brake pads were installed, meaning the rear brakes may not perform as expected under hard stopping.
On 2020 models, the rear brake rotor bolts may not have been tightened adequately at the factory. Over time, those bolts can work loose and contact the swingarm or caliper bracket, degrading rear braking performance. A rider may notice an abnormal noise before braking is affected. The 2020 model year also has a front brake light switch that can fail when water enters the switch housing, leaving the brake light dark when the front brake is applied and giving no warning signal to traffic behind.
